Galgotias Business School organizes B School Meet

Galgotias Business School in association with Management Development Institute, Singapore organized a Business School’s meet on Leadership on 27th July 2010, in Greater Noida. Directors and Senior Officials of more than fifty Business Schools of North India, Representative from Singapore Tourism Board, Ms. Shifali Gautam, President of All India Management Schools and Mr. Sagar Bahadur, Area Manager – North India, MDIS, attended the grand event.
Prof. Shalini Srivastava, Convener of the event, shared her views on leadership with the audience and said that there is an aching void inside every human being for excitement and leadership has a role in filling this void and channelising the human energy in a positive direction for fulfilling organization and individual needs.
Prof. (Dr.) Renu Luthra Director Galgotias the Business School in her welcome address and talked about the “ Law of Farm” in which she explained about how sowing of seeds, cultivation, weeding, watering and nurturing, the harvest are important for good crop. She explained this analogy in the context of the education system where we as faculty are nurturing young managers and leaders of tomorrow through quality academic and co-curricular process.
The leadership Seminar was conducted by Mr. Ian Thomson, Managing Director, Procentus Consulting Ltd., and Associate Professor at John Adair’s Academy. The Seminar highlighted the concept of ‘Action Centered Leadership’; the need and measures for its continuous development in the educational field besides, aiming to hone the leadership capabilities of Business School Heads. This initiative of MDIS was assisted by Genesis Events India Pvt. Ltd.
The Lecture was followed by a business school meet which was attended by directors and Professors of business schools.
Institutes participated in B-School meet are:- Army Institute Of Management(AIMT), Jagannath Institute of Management Studies(JIMS), Birla Institute Of Management And Technology(BIMTECH), ITS Institute Of Management, Institute Of Marketing & Management(IMM), Mother Teresa Institute Of Management, European Management Institute, Ansal Institute Of Technology, NIILM School Of Business(NSB), Accurate Institute Of Management & Technology, Dewan institute of Management Studies, Dav Institute of Management and Sheela Devi Institute Of Management & Technology(SDIMT).
The possibilities of joint collaboration, co-operation in Faculty Development Programme, Research, MDP and Students activities were discussed. This B-School meet was the first of its kind and it generated a lot of enthusiasm and keenness amongst the directors for partnering and collaborative relations.
