An Entrepreneurship Awareness Camp on 9th to 11th December, 2009

GBS, Greater Noida and EDI came into a collaboration to promote Entrepreneurship in Education
Entrepreneurship Development Institute of India (EDI) was established in the year 1983 with the assistance of apex financial institutions like IDBI, ICICI, IFCI, SBI and the Government of Gujarat. Since its inception, EDI has been spearheading the entrepreneurship development movement in the country and is widely recognized in the country as the premier resource institution in the field of entrepreneurship development education, training and research.
EDI has organized a three days Entrepreneurship Awareness Camp supported by NSTEDB, Dept. Of Science & Technology, Govt. Of India and in collaboration with Galgotias Business School, Greater Noida from 9-11 December, 2009. There were about 80 student participants who were from the GBS and various other Institutions from Delhi and NCR.
The camp was inaugurated by Mr. Vijay Shekhar Sharma, an Entrepreneur, Prof. Dr. Renu Luthra, Director GBS and Mr. Bikram Kundu, Project Officer and Programme Co-ordinator EDII, Ahmedabad. Ms. Kalpana Sinha, NEN Consultant, Mr. V. K. Luthra, Director CRC, GBS and Faculty members of GBS and other Institutions were also present at the auspicious occasion. During the inauguration Prof. Dr. Renu Luthra, Director GBS inspired the students to become an Entrepreneur.
Bikram Kundu, Project Officer of EDI, Lucknow informed that during the three-days camp concept of Entrepreneurship, Entrepreneurial Competencies, Business Opportunity Guidance and Identification, Project preparation and information of Support Institutions etc will be covered so that students can have the basic knowledge regarding entrepreneurship.
On Day 1, ‘Concept of Entrepreneurship and competency analysis’ was discussed by Bikram Kundu, EDI. Mr. Vijay Shekhar Sharma shared his ‘Enrepreneurial Journey’ with the students.
2nd Day, started with ‘Creativity and Idea generation techniques’ by Ms. Kalpana Sinha, NEN. Dr. Raj Karan Gupta spoke on ‘Opportunity Identification & selection’ to the students. The topic on
‘Support systems and schemes available to entrepreneurs’ were dealt by Mr. Roy. The 3rd Day started with the lecture on ‘Accounts and Finance’ by Dr. Srinivas Shirur. Ms. Sweta Saurabh gave insights on the use of ‘Soft Skills For entrepreneurs’. The last session was taken by Mr. Nishant Sharma, CTO, Kritikal Solutions Private Limited in which he spoke about his Entrepreneurial Experience.
The programme ended with the certificate distribution by Prof. Dr. Renu Luthra, Director GBS. The programme was organized under the valuable guidance of Dr. Raj Karan Gupta, GBS, Greater Noida.
